2024 Honda Prologue EV Revealed With 300 Mile Estimated Range

Honda’s highly anticipated foray into the electric vehicle (EV) market is set to arrive in style with the 2024 Honda Prologue. This compact crossover, reminiscent in size of the Passport, is poised to make a significant impact with its estimated 300-mile range on a single charge.

What makes the Honda Prologue a standout among EVs is its shared Ultium platform and battery with GM’s electric lineup, such as the Chevrolet Blazer EV. However, Honda is confident that its unique suspension tuning, styling, and interior craftsmanship will set it apart in the competitive EV landscape.

At the heart of the Prologue lies an impressive 85.0-kilowatt-hour battery, promising robust performance and range. While powertrain specifics are still closely guarded, the all-wheel-drive variant is expected to deliver a potent 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque.

When it comes to design, the 2024 Honda Prologue is a visual treat. It shares similar dimensions with the Passport but boasts a longer wheelbase, measuring a generous 121.8 inches. This extended wheelbase ensures a stable and planted stance, with wheels pushed to the corners and minimal overhangs. The exterior exudes modern sophistication with its sleek narrow headlights, a glossy black grille, and subtle air curtains on the bumper. Notably, the rear proudly displays the new Honda:e typeface on the hatch, eschewing the traditional logo badge.

While exact drag coefficients remain undisclosed, Honda’s engineering prowess shines through with carefully optimized 19-inch wheels on the EX and Touring models, as well as 21-inch wheels on the Elite trim, effectively reducing aerodynamic turbulence.

Stepping inside the Prologue, you’ll find an inviting cabin that will feel familiar to Accord Hybrid owners. Every trim level comes standard with Google Built-In, ensuring seamless connectivity. The 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster and 11.3-inch infotainment display offer sharp graphics and responsive performance. Integration with Google Maps, Assistant, and the Play app store elevates the technological experience.

Practicality is a strong suit of the Prologue, featuring ample storage solutions. There’s open storage under the center console, generously sized cupholders capable of accommodating 32-ounce bottles, and a spacious cubby between the front seats suitable for tablets and small bags. With the rear seats upright, the Prologue offers 25.2 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to a cavernous 57.7 cubic feet when the seats are folded down.

In terms of performance, the Prologue will be available in single- and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor variant will be front-wheel drive, while the all-wheel-drive version is anticipated to deliver a dynamic driving experience with its 288 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque.

For those concerned about range anxiety, the Prologue’s substantial 85.0-kWh battery promises an estimated 300-mile range in its most efficient configuration. Even with all-wheel drive and larger wheels, you can expect around 260 miles on a single charge. Charging is hassle-free with an at-home station providing 11.5 kilowatts, potentially fully replenishing the battery in less than eight hours. Additionally, a 7.6-kW portable charging kit is available for added convenience.

As the EV market continues to evolve, Honda’s Prologue is poised to make a significant impact. With a starting price in the high-$40,000 range, it offers a compelling blend of style, performance, and practicality, setting the stage for Honda’s electric future.
