2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Revealed at Chicago

The latest model of the 2024 Ford Mustang is truly a work of art on wheels, a perfect blend of style and performance. Ford recently announced the launch of a new carbon wheel option, set to be available with the Dark Horse performance model later this year. Weighing in at a mere 20.1 pounds each, these lightweight wheels are a massive 37% lighter than the traditional aluminum wheels of the Dark Horse, according to Ford. This new addition was developed in partnership with Carbon Revolution and follows the previously launched carbon-fiber wheels for the GT supercar and the Mustang Shelby GT350R.

Carbon Revolution has utilized cutting-edge aerospace technology to bring these wheels to life. The front wheels are protected from high temperatures caused during braking through the use of a plasma arc spray. The wheels are fitted with 305/30R-19 Trofeo RS performance tires in the front and 315/30R-19 tires in the rear. This Mustang Dark Horse is also finished with a special exterior paint color called Blue Ember that is said to change its appearance with different lighting conditions.

In addition to the stunning wheels and unique color, Ford also gave us a sneak peek of the exclusive interior trim of the Dark Horse. The dark and moody cabin features a combination of black and blue hues, with bright Indigo Blue stitching on the steering wheel, door panels, shift boot, and Recaro performance seats. Those who choose the Dark Horse Appearance package will receive a Deep Indigo Blue finish on the seat bolsters and seatbelts to complete the interior’s theme.

The seatbacks are upholstered in black Dinamica suede, while the dash bezels and vents are finished in a dark metallic gloss, replacing the silver shades found in lower Mustang trim levels. The front of the instrument panel, door panels, and three-spoke steering wheel are adorned with carbon-fiber trim.

For customers who prefer a manual transmission, the six-speed manual option comes with a special anodized blue, lightweight titanium manual shift knob. Ford claims that the hollow design of the shift knob helps keep it cool in warm weather. Those who opt for the 10-speed automatic transmission will receive anodized silver paddle shifters.

As a final touch of elegance, each Mustang Dark Horse will feature an instrument panel badge with the vehicle’s unique chassis number, making each one truly one-of-a-kind.
