For the latest C 63 though, Mercedes have gone one step further. This latest iteration of the sedan features a 2.0-liter inline-four engine, which is again another step down compared to the last generation. However, thanks to the turbocharger and hybrid power, this car produces a staggering 671 hp. That is a hugely impressive figure for a car with just a 2.0-liter gasoline engine.
These are some of the most impressive power figures in the history of AMG. Without the hybrid system alone, the inline-four engine makes 476 hp with the electric motor adding an extra 204 hp to that figure. The motor itself draws power from a 6.1-kilowat hour battery pack with a 400 volt electrical architecture. Don’t expect masses of mileage on pure EV mode though, the C 63 is only capable of 8 miles on all-electric power. However, that isn’t the aim of the game with this car. The aim is all about speed. The 0-60 time of the C 63 is just 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 174 mph which is needless to say, quite impressive.
