2023 BMW M2 Vorsteiner Widebody Package

The fierce competition to enhance the outward appearance of the BMW M2 is in full swing. In a recent development, Vorsteiner has tantalized car enthusiasts with a glimpse of its upcoming design upgrades for the aesthetically challenged coupe.

Dubbed the GT Edition, Vorsteiner’s widebody package will encompass a range of aerodynamic enhancements and wheel options. These exciting modifications will be unveiled to the public as part of the California-based tuner’s 20th-anniversary celebrations. Vorsteiner has been at the forefront of innovative car add-ons since 2004, and interestingly, its founder is also the mastermind behind Gunther Werks.

The tuning company has gained considerable acclaim for its previous work, notably for making the front end of the current M3 and M4 more visually appealing. Given their expertise, it’s reasonable to expect a similar transformation for the M2.

Vorsteiner intends to utilize cutting-edge composite technology in the development of these aerodynamic upgrades, indicating a generous application of carbon fiber. Furthermore, customers will have the option to choose between a glossy or satin clear finish for the add-ons.

The primary challenge faced by the M2 lies in its lack of a coherent design. BMW’s stylists seemed to have never ceased their design endeavors, resulting in a mishmash of lines, angular elements, and rounded contours such as the power dome. Even BMW’s own M Performance parts fail to salvage the situation, which is why the involvement of third-party tuners is greatly appreciated.

Vorsteiner has artfully blended aspects of both design approaches mentioned previously. The square design elements still retain their presence, but the rear of the blue car stands out with a bolder appearance. It exudes an essence reminiscent of the revered first-generation BMW M3, particularly with its wide rear end.

Vorsteiner has ingeniously managed to create an illusion of larger kidney grilles by employing unframed inserts made of carbon fiber. These inserts accentuate the nostril-like openings, while the captivating hood slats effectively divert attention away from the front face. Moving to the rear, the integrated spoiler with an illuminated LED light bar delivers a striking visual impact, although it might be considered slightly excessive by some. Additionally, the rear diffuser is more pronounced, and the alloy wheels are truly remarkable.

Although details regarding pricing and availability remain undisclosed for now, it is reasonable to anticipate an announcement from Vorsteiner before the year’s end.
