At the EICMA 2023 motorcycle show, Yamaha showcased its prowess with a range of motorcycles, highlighting innovations and updates to their lineup. One of the stars of the show was the MT-09 SP, a higher-spec version of the regular MT-09, which features a new electronic package, Brembo master cylinder and Stylema calipers, 41mm fully adjustable USD front forks from KYB with DLC coating, a fully adjustable Ohlins rear mono-shock, customizable ride modes, a 5-inch TFT display, keyless start, and numerous other upgrades.
The 2024 Yamaha MT-09 made its global debut at EICMA 2023. It is based on The Knight Horse concept, which builds upon the ride quality of The Rodeo Master with an enhanced torque and agile character. The motorcycle also received an upgraded engine suspension for increased rigidity, a new set of Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tires, a newly designed riding position and tank, as well as new lights with integrated flashers. For added convenience, it comes with Yamaha Ride Control, cruise control, a five-inch full-color instrument panel with connectivity functions, and Type-C USB ports. This model is expected to launch in Japan next year.
Additionally, the new MT-09 has been redesigned to further refine the Torque & Agile character and includes several other updates such as new tires, a revised suspension system, an updated riding position, a newly designed tank, advanced lights, Yamaha Ride Control (YRC), cruise control, a 5-inch full-color TFT with Connectivity functions, and the addition of Type-C USB sockets.
Yamaha’s showcases at EICMA 2023, especially the Tenere 700 and Tenere 700 Explore, have been significant, with the latter being a touring-focused ADV featuring 43mm KYB front USD forks and KYB mono-shock rear, a large windscreen, a quick-shifter, a 16L fuel tank, a 5-inch TFT screen, 21-inch front and 18-inch wire-spoke wheels, powered by a 689cc parallel-twin engine delivering 72 bhp and 68 Nm. These motorcycles highlight Yamaha’s commitment to innovation and offering a diverse range of bikes to cater to the different preferences of motorcycle enthusiasts around the world.
