Unleashing the Off-Road Beast: The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor Takes the World by Storm!

Behold the announcement of the arrival of the next-gen and next-level Ford Ranger Raptor! This phenomenal pick-up truck is designed to dominate and conquer not only the desert but also the mountains and all terrain in between, pushing the boundaries of off-road performance to new heights and catering to the desires of true enthusiasts.

Performance fans, prepare yourselves for the pièce de résistance, the all-new twin-turbo 3 point 0-litre EcoBoost V6 petrol engine, which has been expertly tuned by none other than Ford Performance to unleash a colossal 284 horsepower and 362 pound foot of torque. The introduction of this new engine is a game changer, offering significantly more power than the current 2 point 0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine. However, the latter will still be available in the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor from 2023, and further details tailored to specific markets will be divulged closer to the launch date.

The twin-turbo 3 point 0-litre EcoBoost V6 engine boasts a compacted graphite-iron cylinder block, which is approximately 75 per cent stronger and up to 75 per cent stiffer than the iron used in traditional castings. Ford Performance engineers have gone to great lengths to ensure that the engine responds instantaneously to throttle inputs, and a state-of-the-art anti-lag system, reminiscent of that which made its debut in the Ford GT road car and Focus ST, facilitates prompt and rapid delivery of boost on demand.

The revolutionary new anti-lag system is available in Baja mode, and maintains the turbochargers’ rotational velocity for up to three seconds after the driver eases off the accelerator, allowing for swifter acceleration out of corners or when shifting gears and then promptly returning to full throttle. Additionally, the engine has been programmed with an individual turbocharging boost profile tailored for each of the advanced 10-speed automatic transmission’s gears, ensuring optimal performance across the board.

The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor boasts a chassis that is uniquely different from the all-new Ranger, featuring a variety of Raptor-specific mounts and reinforcements, such as those found on the C-pillar, load box, and spare wheel, as well as specialized frames for the jounce bumper, shock tower, and rear shock bracket. All of these design features work in unison to fortify the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor to withstand the most grueling off-road conditions.

A high-performance off-roader like the Ranger Raptor needs running gear to match, which is why Ford engineers have entirely revamped the suspension system. The new and improved design boasts tough yet lightweight aluminum upper and lower control arms, long-travel front and rear suspension, and a refined Watt’s link rear end, all of which come together to deliver unparalleled control over rough terrain at high speeds.

For the first time ever, the Ranger Raptor will feature an advanced full-time four-wheel-drive system with an all-new electronically controlled on-demand two-speed transfer case, coupled with front and rear locking differentials, a coveted feature for hardcore off-road enthusiasts. All in all, the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor is a triumph of engineering and design, and is poised to be the ultimate pick-up truck for the off-road adventurer.
