Small Volvo EX30 EV Set To Debut on June 7

Volvo is set to unveil its latest and smallest electric crossover to date. Mark your calendars for June 7th, when the Swedish automaker plans to officially introduce the world to its innovative new creation. However, you needn’t hold your breath for a full month, as recently leaked patent images have revealed the exterior of the cutting-edge EX30 from all angles.

Take a look at these patent images available from the patent office which are public records, courtesy of the Cochespias forum, which features a vehicle that seems to be a scaled-down version of the EX90, particularly in terms of the front-end design. The headlight structure and enclosed fascia bestow upon the EX30 an uncanny resemblance to its larger sibling. Yet, the side profile of this compact crossover stands out with a more inclined roofline and a beefier C-pillar.

While the taillight design appears strikingly similar, the EX30 boasts unique design elements that set the rear fascia apart from its fellow electric offerings. Although the images don’t provide a clear view of whether the strips connecting the taillights are LED-based, we’re inclined to believe that they are.

With the official debut of the EX30 scheduled for June 7, eager observers won’t have to wait long to discover all the intricate details. In tandem with the unveiling, select markets will open up for orders or pre-orders of the new battery-powered marvel. While Volvo remains tight-lipped about further information, they intriguingly hint that “thinking small is one of our biggest ideas.”

This fresh addition to Volvo’s EV lineup will find its place beneath the established XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge.
