Porsche 911 993 Speedster From The Sonderwunsch Program

Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, meaning “special wishes” in German, allows select customers to collaborate closely with the automaker to create truly unique vehicles. Recently, Italian designer Luca Trazzi fulfilled his dream of owning a Porsche 993 Speedster—a model Porsche never officially produced. Working with Porsche’s experts, Trazzi transformed a 993 Carrera Cabriolet into a bespoke Speedster, complete with a cut-down windshield, a distinctive rear decklid, and custom touches like 18-inch Turbo twist wheels with body-colored pinstriping.

The car’s vibrant yellow color, named after Trazzi’s dog, Otto, adds a personal flair, while the interior features retro-styled mirrors and yellow-and-black checkered-flag seats. Inspired by the 993 Turbo, the design includes elements like a front spoiler and side skirts, with a nod to the original 1989 911 Speedster in the sharkfin rock protector. Under the hood, the 3.8-liter flat-six engine from the 993 Carrera RS delivers 300 horsepower.

The final creation debuted at Monterey Car Week before heading back to Europe, where Trazzi will take delivery. Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, now a formalized service, continues to cater to those seeking the ultimate custom Porsche, with costs starting at $100,000 but likely escalating for such exclusive projects.
