New Škoda Kodiaq and Superb Rigorous tests

The latest iterations of Škoda’s Superb and Kodiaq model series have triumphantly completed an extensive international examination regimen. The Czech automotive manufacturer subjected both vehicle models to a battery of trials in preparation for their forthcoming global debuts. Over the span of two years, these automobiles traversed a staggering one million kilometers. These rigorous road tests subjected the vehicles to extreme climatic conditions, plummeting to a frigid -30 °C amidst the vast expanse north of the Arctic Circle, while enduring scorching temperatures approaching 50 °C within the confines of Arizona’s unforgiving desert terrain.

Furthermore, Škoda Auto subjected these vehicles to the formidable challenge of towing trailers while navigating the treacherous terrain of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. The brand also meticulously assessed diverse charging infrastructures designed to accommodate the plug-in-hybrid drivetrain configurations. In addition to these rigorous real-world trials, Škoda subjected these vehicles to a battery of supplementary tests, including exhaustive endurance evaluations and material assessments conducted both on test rigs and within the controlled confines of a laboratory setting. Collectively, these trials served as a comprehensive simulation of four decades’ worth of typical vehicle usage, setting the stage for the impending launch of these models.
