Introducing the Lamborghini Revuelto, an avant-garde fusion of designs hailing from diverse eras. Picture the Murcielago’s imposing snout coupled with the Diablo’s voluptuous haunches. Throw in the Countach’s scissor doors and iconic wedge profile. What you get is a plethora of historical references masterfully intertwined with an innovative twist: the Revuelto is a plug-in hybrid! Equipped with a mid-mounted V-12 engine, two electric motors on the front axle, and another motor incorporated in the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, this beast boasts an astonishing 1001 horsepower.
If you’re coveting this groundbreaking 1000-hp PHEV, be prepared to dig deep into your pockets. Perhaps it’s time to auction off that prized art collection?
The Revuelto’s performance is nothing short of spectacular. The 6.5-liter V-12, nestled in the middle of the vehicle, churns out 814 horsepower and roars to an astounding 9500-rpm redline. With three electric motors augmenting the powertrain, the Revuelto not only outpaces every Lamborghini in history but also dethrones the 986-hp Ferrari SF90 Stradale as the most powerful plug-in hybrid. Although we’ve yet to test the Revuelto, Lamborghini estimates a 0-62 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 217 mph.
The Revuelto’s interior is as distinctive as its exterior. A two-seater arrangement is necessitated by the 12-cylinder engine’s location, giving the cabin a futuristic, spacecraft-like aura. Four rotors on the steering wheel govern drive modes, while other buttons manage turn signals and launch control. Compared to the Aventador, the Revuelto boasts increased headroom and legroom—an easy feat. Storage-wise, there’s room for a golf bag behind the seats and sufficient frunk space for a couple of carry-on suitcases.
Digitalization pervades the Revuelto’s cabin, with an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen taking charge of most vehicle functions, including climate control. A 9.1-inch screen on the passenger-side dash displays data like speed, drive gear, and torque distribution—perfect for inducing bouts of motion sickness. A third, 12.3-inch display fulfills gauge-cluster duties, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard.
As for the price tag, the Lamborghini Revuelto will set you back a cool $890,000. Elegance, power, and innovation come at a cost.
