Undeniably, one of the most appealing vehicles beyond the luxury category is the Peugeot 508, which is presently undergoing a comprehensive update that introduces modifications both inside and out. The duo comprising the midsize sedan and wagon now adopt the refreshed lion emblem and corporate grille, which are flanked by slimmer headlights. These sleeker headlights utilize matrix LED technology and feature the signature three-claws, known for their daytime running lights, combined into a single unit.

Once you step inside, the updated 2023 Peugeot 508 Sedan and SW present an updated 10-inch infotainment system and a redesigned gear selector that are standard across the range for the eight-speed automatic transmission. The available driving modes and suspension settings vary depending on the engine chosen. Additionally, the small steering wheel houses a 12-inch fully digital instrument cluster.

Regarding engines, the lineup commences with a 130 horsepower, three-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. For the African, Middle Eastern, and Asian markets, Peugeot also offers a larger 218 horsepower four-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine. Alternatively, customers can opt for the 130 horsepower four-cylinder, 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine.

For two-wheel-drive configurations, a pair of plug-in hybrid powertrains are available, with the option to combine a 150hp or 180hp gasoline engine with an 81-kilowatt electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 180hp and 225hp. On the other hand, the 508 PSE model includes a 200hp gasoline engine and an 81-kW electric motor linked to the automatic transmission, as well as an 83-kW electric motor at the rear. The combination of these powertrains produces 360hp, which is distributed to both axles.

The three PHEV models use a 12.4-kWh battery pack, which can be recharged using a standard 3.7-kW charger or an optional 7.4-kW charger that comes as standard on the flagship PSE model.

Peugeot has announced that the facelifted 508 will be available for purchase this summer.
