Fisker Unveils Insights into Pear Electric Crossover Boasting a Range of Up To 320 Miles

After the sneak peek into its forthcoming lineup on August 3rd, Fisker, a renowned player in the electric vehicle realm, has unveiled additional details and a collection of images showcasing its highly anticipated entry-level model, the Pear.

With a pre-incentive price of $29,900, the Pear adopts the form of a crossover vehicle designed to comfortably accommodate either five or six passengers.

Turning our attention to the powertrain, Fisker is offering two battery choices, enabling the Pear to achieve an estimated range of either 180 miles or an extended 320 miles for longer journeys. Prospective buyers can select from both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. Impressively, the base model is projected to achieve a 0-60 mph acceleration in just 6.3 seconds. Notably, a more performance-oriented version, known as the Pear Extreme, is also part of the lineup.

Among the distinctive features is an innovative Houdini trunk that provides a clever solution for navigating tight urban parking spaces and avoiding damage in parking structures with limited headroom.

Fisker emphasizes the durability of the cabin, designed without delicate moving parts, making the Pear suitable for car-sharing, families, or those needing ample storage space.

The interior will incorporate recycled and bio-based materials, aligning with Fisker’s aim to create a carbon-neutral vehicle by 2027. Additionally, the cabin offers a Lounge Mode where all seats can be folded flat, creating a spacious lounge area for activities like watching movies or taking a break. An optional 17.1-inch rotating screen will provide entertainment during Lounge Mode.

It’s worth noting that the images displayed represent the final production version of the vehicle, with the exception of the exterior camera mirrors, which are still under review.

On the road, the Pear will ride on standard 20-inch wheels equipped with low rolling resistance tires, while those seeking a more performance-oriented experience can opt for the 22-inch wheels fitted with high-performance tires.

Regarding manufacturing, Fisker reveals that the Pear utilizes a novel lightweight steel body structure, leading to a 35 percent reduction in parts count. The company’s plan is to manufacture the Pear in collaboration with Foxconn at a factory in Ohio, though final details of the partnership are yet to be solidified. Notably, the launch of the model has been rescheduled from 2024 to the first half of 2025.
