Ferrari 24 HOURS OF LE MANS WIN Celebrated in Maranello Italy

The Ferrari – AF Corse team celebrated a long-awaited victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking a significant milestone for the company founded in 1947. The event, which took place on Tuesday, 20 June, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts. The triumph was not only notable for the prestigious win itself, but also for the Hyperpole session and the fastest lap achieved by the Ferrari crews.

The day began with a captivating scene as two 499Ps emerged from the gates of Via Abetone Inferiore, the entrance to the Prancing Horse headquarters. The cars formed a parade, passing through the Attività Sportive GT and Scuderia Ferrari area before making their way through the streets of the town centre. The route included some of the most iconic locations, such as the Ferrari Museum, adding to the excitement of the event.

This unique spectacle drew numerous fans and families who eagerly gathered to witness the hybrid Hypercars that had emerged victorious in France on the weekend of 11 June. The town in the Province of Modena was adorned in celebration, as the crews of the 499P number 51, comprising Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi, and the number 50, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen, received well-deserved recognition. The former claimed victory at Le Mans, while the latter secured the best time in the race after starting from the first grid position.

Following the parade through the town centre, the atmosphere continued to be joyous as the employees of Ferrari enjoyed the afternoon festivities. Chairman John Elkann dedicated the victory to them by showcasing both the 499P number 51 and the Centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans trophy. The employees played a crucial role in the team’s success, and their support was greatly appreciated.

True to tradition, the Ferrari community came together to celebrate their team’s triumph. By crossing the finish line first in the fourth event of the 2023 FIA WEC and returning to the top class of endurance racing this season, the Maranello-based manufacturer once again etched its name in motorsport history. This victory added to the already impressive cabinet of achievements, which now boasts ten remarkable overall wins (the most recent being in 1965) and 29 class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
