Toyota Indiana marked a significant achievement today as it commenced the production of the inaugural Lexus TX, an all-new, three-row luxury SUV. This 2024 TX represents a historic moment as it is the first Lexus SUV ever to be manufactured in the United States, and it also marks the first Lexus model produced by Toyota Indiana.
Back in 2021, Toyota had unveiled its plan to invest a substantial $803 million in Indiana for the assembly of two brand-new SUV models. This investment underscored the automaker’s unwavering commitment to American manufacturing and, in particular, to the dedicated workforce of over 8,000 employees at Toyota Indiana. Now, in 2023, we see the realization of this commitment with the launch of the Grand Highlander and, most recently, the introduction of the Lexus TX.

This funding will go towards the creation of an innovative mobile museum, which will enable children from across the region to expand their imaginations and engage in hands-on learning through play. The mobile museum will focus on interactive STEAM activities, extending the reach of valuable educational content beyond the confines of a traditional museum setting while providing an enjoyable and enriching experience for young minds.
