Bugatti SUV or CUV Rendered

Bugatti’s intriguing SUV/CUV project is gaining momentum under the leadership of Stephan Winkelmann. Unlike conventional SUVs, this venture aims to carve out a unique identity, leaning towards a sporty, elevated crossover rather than a typical SUV. Renderings offer a tantalizing glimpse into the vehicle’s potential design.

Winkelmann, no stranger to SUVs from his time at Lamborghini, is determined to redefine Bugatti’s path. While he firmly ruled out a traditional SUV, a sportier crossover with a higher seating position and a more aerodynamic CUV-like body is in the works.

The project isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s also about embracing hybrid technology. With a projected price tag around $1 million, Bugatti’s SUV/CUV will likely incorporate a potent hybrid powertrain, offering the best of both worlds.

Imagine a compact, two-door crossover exuding an irresistible allure, lighter than its peers. It shares some components with Lamborghini’s Urus but with extensive hybridization for formidable performance.

Winkelmann’s declaration that this new vehicle will be the “greatest, most expensive car in its sector” is intriguing. However, he assures that the Chiron will always reign supreme in Bugatti’s lineup.

As Bugatti embarks on this venture, discussions include tapping into the group’s manufacturing network for production, targeting up to 800 units annually from 2023. Yet, there’s a commitment to preserving Bugatti’s heritage in Molsheim, France, signaling a profound shift from its hypercar legacy to a more diversified future.
