Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo Test Drive

The Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo is a visionary concept race car developed by Audi Sport GmbH. This two-seater vehicle was manufactured in Germany and unveiled in April 2018 at the Audi Competence Center Motorsport in Neuburg an der Donau, Bavaria, Germany, shortly after Audi released teaser trailers on YouTube. It was initially created exclusively for virtual races within the PlayStation 4 environment, as a part of the Vision Gran Turismo project, and can be experienced in games like Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.

The car is notable for its electric powertrain, which consists of three electric motors, each producing 200 kW (268 HP). Two of these motors power the rear axle, while the third drives the front axle, collectively delivering a substantial 815 hp. This power setup is a significant step forward in blending the realms of virtual racing and real-world automotive technology.

In a crossover between digital entertainment and real-world application, the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo transcended its virtual origins to become a tangible reality. Audi brought this vehicle to life in conjunction with Formula E, deploying it as a race taxi during the Formula E race in Rome on April 14, 2018. This move showcases Audi’s commitment to electric mobility and its prowess in marrying innovative entertainment experiences with its automotive expertise.
