The company has formed a groundbreaking supply agreement with Lucid Group, a world-leading electric vehicle technologies company. The agreement, announced today to the London Stock Exchange, outlines Lucid’s role as a supplier of cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies to Aston Martin. Lucid specializes in advanced electric powertrains and battery systems, and its current and future technologies will be integrated into Aston Martin’s all-new in-house Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platform.

Aston Martin’s electrification program is an integral part of its wider Racing. Green. sustainability strategy, which involves investing over £2 billion in advanced technologies over the next five years, with a shift from internal combustion engine (ICE) to BEV technology.

Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, expressed the significance of the supply agreement, stating, “The supply agreement with Lucid is a game changer for the future EV-led growth of Aston Martin. We selected Lucid to gain access to their industry-leading technologies, which will enhance and differentiate the drive experience aligned with our ultra-luxury, high-performance strategy.”

In addition to Lucid, Aston Martin benefits from a long-term partnership with Mercedes-Benz, providing access to a range of world-class technologies, including powertrain and electric/electronic architectures. This collaboration further strengthens Aston Martin’s internal development and investment in delivering its electrification strategy. Moreover, Aston Martin’s recent partnership with Geely opens up opportunities to access their technologies, components, and expertise in the Chinese market.

Aston Martin’s commitment to electrification is demonstrated by the development of an all-new bespoke platform that will underpin its entire future range of electrified models. From hypercars to sports cars, GTs, and SUVs, Aston Martin aims to launch its first electrified model in 2025. By 2026, all new Aston Martin model lines will offer an electrified powertrain option, with the ultimate goal of fully electrifying its core range by 2030.
