In a nostalgic nod to the 1990s models, the GR Supra 45th Anniversary edition comes in two captivating colors: the deep orange hue called Mikan Blast (which incidentally means “orange” in Japanese) and the ice-cold Absolute Zero. Built on the foundation of the 3.0 Premium Grade, this GR Supra boasts a sleek and compact design that is complemented by a sizable rear spoiler, manually adjustable for optimal performance. The spoiler rises about three inches above the rear decklid and can be fine-tuned using an adjustment screw, allowing drivers to alter its angle and control the amount of downforce applied to the rear wheels.
Distinguishing itself further, the 45th Anniversary Edition showcases matte-black finished 19-inch aluminum wheels and black painted brake calipers mounted in opposition, proudly displaying the GR logo on the front. Along the side, a black side panel graphic featuring a Supra logo cutout gracefully sweeps upward, accentuating the car’s contours. This special edition, with its distinct aesthetics, pays homage to the renowned MkIV model that achieved fame on the silver screen. Limited to just 900 units, the 45th Anniversary Edition is evenly divided between the Mikan Blast and Absolute Zero color options. Moreover, the engine compartment will be adorned with exclusive 45th Anniversary Edition Mikan Blast strut tower braces, proudly showcasing the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing logo. The car will be available in both manual and automatic transmission options and will be powered by the same B58 inline six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged engine found in all 3.0 Supra models, generating an impressive output of 382 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque.
The GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition stays true to the nameplate’s tradition of offering unique variants since its relaunch. Since its triumphant return to the market in 2019, Toyota has introduced a range of special editions such as the Launch, A91, A91 Carbon Fiber, and A91MT editions. Over the course of the last four model years, the GR Supra has continuously evolved, with enhancements like increased horsepower and torque in the 3.0 models, improvements in handling dynamics, the introduction of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder model, and the availability of a Manual Transmission option. Furthermore, in 2020, Toyota GAZOO Racing ventured into producing the GR Supra GT4 model for competitive racing.
