2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Rendered Again Before August 1st Reveal

Toyota’s next-generation Land Cruiser is set to make its debut on August 1, and recent teaser images have given us a glimpse of what to expect. The folks at Kolesa used these images to create a rendering of the new SUV’s potential appearance.

Toyota is excited about the Land Cruiser’s retro look, drawing inspiration from the FJ62 model from the late 1980s. Like its classic predecessor, the upcoming Land Cruiser features a bold front end with rectangular headlights and chiseled fender flares.

The design of the new Land Cruiser appears to focus on simplicity and clean lines, with the fenders adding visual appeal to its sides. The large windows and prominent roof rack add to its rugged charm.

While we’ve only seen one photo of the interior, it reveals a rocker switch for swapping between high and low gear ranges. Additionally, there’s a middle setting labeled “H4L,” which we assume is for engaging high range with a locked differential.

From the available information, it seems likely that the new Land Cruiser will be built on Toyota’s body-on-frame GA-F platform, though official confirmation is still pending. This platform is shared with the Lexus GX, which comes equipped with a powerful twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 engine producing 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Lexus model also features full-time four-wheel drive and a lockable Torsen limited-slip center differential. Notably, Toyota’s Land Cruiser has an additional “H4L” setting that sets it apart.

The standard drivetrain of the GX includes full-time four-wheel drive and a lockable Torsen limited-slip center differential. Impressively, the electronically controlled transfer case can shift between 4WD-High and 4WD-Low faster than its predecessor. Additionally, the Overtrail grades come with a locking rear differential.

Toyota has confirmed that the new Land Cruiser will be available in the United States. However, specific details regarding the launch date and pricing are yet to be revealed. Hopefully, we will gain more insight into these aspects during the August 1 debut.
