The GSX-8R embodies Suzuki’s new vision of the modern sports car and dresses the recent platform developed around the parallel twin-cylinder engine with 270° crankshaft with bold and streamlined lines.
Under the new bodywork, the mechanical bits are largely familiar. The engine is the same 270-degree crank, 776cc parallel twin that’s used in the GSX-8S and the V-Strom 800DE, putting out an unchanged 81.8 hp at 8,500 rpm and 57.5 lb.-ft. at 6,800 rpm. Far from superbike numbers but enough to have some fun without scaring yourself with every twitch of your right wrist.
