2024 McLaren 750S Revealed With 740 Horsepower

McLaren, the renowned British automaker, has released the 750S, the successor to its potent 720S model. The new supercar has undergone significant refinements and enhancements, with roughly 30% of its components being new or modified. The company has introduced both coupe and hardtop convertible body styles for the 750S, which houses a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that generates a staggering 730 horsepower (740 brake horsepower) and 590 pound-feet of torque, surpassing the McLaren P1. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an updated seven-speed sequential gearbox featuring a shorter final drive ratio.

The 750S Coupe and Spider can rocket from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds. However, the convertible variant is 0.1 seconds slower to reach 124 mph – 7.2 to 7.3 seconds – and 0.6 seconds slower to achieve 186 mph, taking 19.8 and 20.4 seconds, respectively. Additionally, their quarter-mile times differ, with the coupe completing it in 10.1 seconds compared to the Spider’s 10.3 seconds. Both can reach a top speed of 206 mph.

The 750S model has a front track that is 0.24 inches (6 millimeters) wider than its predecessor, and the company has introduced new suspension geometry. McLaren has installed its new-generation Proactive Chassis Control III, which features three-percent softer front springs and four-percent firmer rear springs. Furthermore, the automaker has improved its vehicle-lift system, which raises the front of the car in just four seconds, while it took the 720S 10 seconds to do the same.

McLaren has sharpened its “form follows function” design philosophy with the new 750S, which has familiar design elements combined with fresh styling. The front of the car features a new bumper that channels air into the redesigned, narrower eye sockets that house the LED lighting and a path to the low-temperature radiators. A new extended front splitter provides aerodynamic balance and works in tandem with the 20-percent larger active rear wing.

The rear of the coupe and convertible boasts a P1-inspired center-exit exhaust system, which had designers repositioning the active rear wing two inches higher. McLaren has also fitted the 750S with bigger intakes ahead of the rear wheel, a new rear bumper, a new mesh grille, and a new rear deck.

The interior of the 750S is standard with Alcantara, while two additional specifications are available: TechLux and Performance. The TechLux version uses Nappa leather throughout the cabin, while Performance combines leather and Alcantara. McLaren has further enhanced the interior with a new dark metal finish and customizable ambient lighting. The company has also introduced new displays, with the instrument cluster now inside a binnacle attached to the steering column. The new McLaren Control Launcher allows drivers to save their favorite aero, handling, powertrain, and transmission settings, which are accessible with a single button press. Apple CarPlay is standard.

McLaren has worked hard to reduce the weight of the car compared to its predecessor. The carbon fiber-shelled racing seats are 38.6 pounds lighter than the standard seats in the 720S. Additionally, the company has installed the lightest wheel ever fitted on a series-production model, 10-spoke forged alloy rims that save another 30.4 lbs. Other styles are available in various finishes, including new gold Orum. All the weight savings result in the 750S coupe weighing 66 lbs less than the 720S, tipping the scales at 3,062 lbs (DIN).

The newest offering from British automaker McLaren, the 750S, presents a range of possibilities for car enthusiasts looking for a thrill. This supercar is available in various finishes, including the new gold Orum, and boasts a weight savings of 66 lbs compared to its predecessor, the 720S. The 750S Coupe, weighing in at 3,062 lbs (DIN), is significantly lighter than the 720S, while the Spider variant is only slightly heavier at 3,170 lbs.

The 750S is available for purchase now and comes with a variety of options. One such option is the track brake upgrade, which is modeled after the system on the Senna and adds larger ceramic rotors, monoblock calipers, a new booster and vacuum pump, and Formula 1-inspired caliper cooling technology. Customers can also opt for super-lightweight carbon fiber racing seats, which weigh just 7.4 lbs, Pirelli P Zero Corsa or Trofeo R tires, and an upgraded Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

While the exact date for when the 750S will go on sale has not been specified, the company has revealed its price range. The 750S Coupe starts at $324,000 (excluding transportation and port processing fees of $5,000 or the $2,240 Americas Accessory Pack). The Spider variant has a starting price of $345,000.
