2024 Honda ZR-V Euro spec Walkaround

The ZR-V stands out as the crossover equivalent of the Civic and is exclusively equipped with a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain in Europe. Interestingly, this hybrid powertrain is not available for the US-spec HR-V, for reasons unknown. The electrified version of the ZR-V features a four-cylinder engine and delivers a combined output of 181 horsepower and 315 Newton meters (232 pound-feet) of torque.

As of now, detailed performance specifications have yet to be released. However, Honda promises “powerful acceleration comparable to a V6 3.0-liter engine” thanks to the internal combustion engine (ICE) working together with two electric motors in a hybrid setup borrowed from the Civic e:HEV. The power is sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). In Japan, you also have the option to get the electrified ZR-V with all-wheel drive.

It’s worth mentioning that the ZR-V measures 4570 millimeters (180 inches) in length and 1840 mm (72.4 in) in width, making it closer in size to the outgoing CR-V rather than the newly unveiled next-generation model for the European market. With the rear seats folded down, it offers a generous cargo capacity of 1,291 liters (45.6 cubic feet).

The ZR-V was unveiled today at the European Media Event in Offenbach, Germany, and is set to hit the market in the fall, competing against the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and other popular compact crossovers.
