Citroen has launched its latest offering in the Indian market, the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. The vehicle is the fourth car by the French automaker in the country and will be the third model to carry forward the C3 name, after the hatchback and electric version of the car. However, despite the same moniker, the C3 Aircross SUV boasts of unique features and capabilities compared to its predecessors in India.

The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV has been designed with the capability of being an off-roader as well. It aims to compete in the hot market of compact SUVs in India, which is currently dominated by Indian and Korean automakers. The company has announced that the SUV will go on sale in India later in 2023.

The exterior design of the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV draws heavily from its predecessor. The front grille integrates the Citroen logo and features a two-layer chrome plated design, complemented by Y-shaped DRLs with the headlamp below it. The bumper also includes dedicated air intakes. The side profile features round wheel arches and a design reminiscent of the other C3 models. The vehicle stands on alloy wheels, providing it with a ground clearance of 200mm. The rear end has square-shaped tail lamps that give the SUV a larger appearance compared to the hatchback. The top-end variants will also be offered with a dual-tone paint scheme.

The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV will be available in two seating options, with five and seven-seater variants. The SUV is loaded with features, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen, second-row AC vents, and more. The company offers multiple driving modes to make it suitable for all terrains.

Powering the Citroen C3 Aircross is a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which produces 110 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. This is the same engine that powers the C3. In terms of gearbox choices, the C3 Aircross SUV will be offered with a six-speed manual.

The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV will face tough competition from well-known competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq once it is launched in India.
