2024 Buick Envista Revealed For US Market

The Buick Envista made its debut in China last year, and a short time later, the car manufacturer verified its impending arrival in the United States. Now, the moment has come for the Envista to enter the US market, showcasing a fresh design idiom for the marque, initially previewed by the Wildcat EV concept from the previous year.

A 1.2-liter turbocharged engine propels the innovative Envista crossover, delivering 136 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and achieving a GM-projected 30-mpg combined fuel efficiency. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Scott McLane, the lead development engineer for the model, asserts that the new 1.2 turbo engine is lighter and incorporates fewer components. The Avenir is equipped with a standard Watts Link suspension, which is also an option for the ST trim.

The crossover boasts svelte illumination components encircling the vehicle, with a front end showcasing a forward-slanting snout that seamlessly melds with the low, streamlined silhouette. Atop the grille, the reimagined Buick insignia adorns the bodywork. The Sport Touring variant features 18-inch all-black wheels as standard, with an upgrade to 19-inch wheels available. The Avenir distinguishes itself with exclusive 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels as a baseline offering.

A chic dashboard within the Buick hosts a generous 19-inch screen expanse, where an industry-leading 11-inch infotainment display reigns supreme. The infotainment system has been enhanced with a refined user interface, voice command capabilities, and app functionality. Avenir and ST trims boast their insignias embroidered on the headrests, while a sporty, flat-bottom steering wheel comes standard.

In the second row, 40/60-split folding seats are featured, providing 20.7 cubic inches of storage space when upright. Folding them down expands cargo capacity to a sizable 42 cubic feet. To simplify access to the cargo area, Buick has incorporated a power liftgate.

The Envista will be equipped with the standard Buick Driver Confidence package upon launch. This suite encompasses six active safety features, such as automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, high-beam assist, and more. Additional optional safety amenities include lane change alert with side blind zone alert, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Buick anticipates commencing Envista production next month, with the crossover slated for sale later in the summer season. Upon reaching dealerships, the base price will be set at $23,495 (including the $1,095 destination fee). The Envista Sport Touring model starts at $25,195, while the premium Avenir trim is priced at $29,695. Customers can configure and order their Envista beginning this summer.
