Both the G60 5 Series and the W214 E-Class are available with four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The G60 5 Series offers the 208 hp 520i and the 197 hp 520d, while the W214 E-Class presents the 204 hp E 200 and the 197 hp E 220d. In the North American market, both models introduce more powerful four-cylinder petrol and six-cylinder petrol engines. The G60 5 Series offers the 255 hp/400 Nm 530i and the 375 hp/520 Nm 540i xDrive, while the W214 E-Class features the 255 hp/400 Nm E 350 4Matic and the 375 hp/500 Nm E 450 4Matic.

Stepping inside the cabin, both the G60 5 Series and the W214 E-Class showcase the unique design languages of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, respectively. In this era, display screens take center stage. BMW introduces the Curved Display, while Mercedes-Benz presents the Superscreen design.

When it comes to active safety and driver assistance systems, both models offer an array of features. BMW claims a world-first with its Active Lane Change Assistant, which performs a lane change (when safe) after the driver looks at the exterior mirror following a prompt. The E-Class, on the other hand, incorporates Attention Assist, which provides a driver distraction alert.

Drawing inspiration from the realm of consumer electronics, both the G60 5 Series and the W214 E-Class include exciting features. Selfie cameras and a variety of applications, including games, are part of their feature sets. The new 5 Series introduces AirConsole, offering games such as “Go Kart Go,” “Golazo,” “Music Guess,” and “Overcooked,” in addition to video streaming. The new E-Class, on the other hand, stands out with its availability of the Angry Birds game, along with popular apps like TikTok, Zoom, and Webex.
