As the 2023 model year rolls around, the Toyota Corolla Hybrid emerges as an extensively enhanced and upgraded model, boasting a vast array of new features and functionalities. In particular, it offers an unprecedented choice of five model grades, up from only one in the previous iteration. In addition to a more powerful hybrid system and the availability of Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive, the 2023 Corolla Hybrid comes packed with advanced safety and multimedia systems, fresh styling, and new paint colors.
The most significant development pertains to the Hybrid LE grade, which now benefits from a substantial $1,250 price reduction. This grade is joined by four new models: LE AWD grade, sporty SE, SE AWD grades, and premium XLE grade. For 2023, the XLE grade is exclusively available as a hybrid. Furthermore, all Corolla Hybrid models have been upgraded to Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, featuring innovative Proactive Driving Assist, incorporating Obstacle Anticipation Assist and Deceleration Assist.
All 2023 Corolla Hybrid models boast a more potent Toyota Hybrid System that pairs a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gas engine with two motor-generators via a planetary-type continuously variable transmission. The revised hybrid system pumps out 134 hp and 156 lb. ft. of torque, enabling EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 47 MPG. The upgraded hybrid system bolsters acceleration and mid-range power.
Moreover, the next-generation Toyota Audio Multimedia outfits all 2023 Corolla Hybrid models with an 8-inch high-resolution touch screen and extended capabilities, including standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Additionally, all models feature two rear-seat USB-C ports, taking the total number of ports in the car to four.
The sporty SE model gains a new standard Smart Key, enhanced Sport driving mode tuning, and red interior accents that replace the previous blue accents. Furthermore, all 2023 Corolla Hybrid models come with Safety Connect and Service Connect, both offering up to 10-year trial subscriptions, providing exceptional value for customers.
