2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T in RubyStar Color Code 4SR. The introductory version of the 911 Carrera showcases a robust twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine, delivering an impressive 379 horsepower. This particular model exclusively offers an eight-speed PDK automatic transmission. On the other hand, the pricier Carrera S elevates the power output to 443 horsepower and provides the option of Porsche’s exceptional seven-speed manual gearbox. The Carrera T strikes a balance between the two, retaining the 379-hp version of the flat-six engine while expanding the availability of the seven-speed manual transmission. It’s worth noting that if you opt for the Carrera T with the PDK, some of the weight-saving benefits of the T will be compromised. Interestingly, the automatic variant is reputed to be quicker, as per Porsche’s claim of a zero-to-60 time of 3.8 seconds for the PDK and 4.3 seconds for the manual.
In addition to the standard manual transmission, the Carrera T introduces several enhancements. These include a mechanical limited-slip differential, Porsche’s PASM active suspension system with sport-tuned dampers, and wheels and tires with staggered-fitment. The front wheels measure 20 inches and are adorned with 245-section-width rubber, while the rear wheels, spanning 21 inches, boast wider 305s. Although our example in Gulf Blue did not possess it, a rear-axle-steering system can be added as an optional feature. All Carrera T models come equipped with the popular Sport Chrono package as a standard offering, alongside Agate Gray exterior trim and a sport exhaust system with glossy black tailpipes.
