For 2025, the Porsche 911 Carrera, often referred to as the “base” model, undergoes significant upgrades that further elevate its impressive performance. Despite its base model designation, the Carrera’s driving dynamics and capabilities are anything but ordinary.

At its core, the Carrera retains the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, mated to an eight-speed PDK transmission. However, the 2025 version sees notable enhancements, including upgraded turbochargers from the pre-refresh GTS model and the charge-air cooler from the high-performance Turbo models. These updates increase the engine’s output to 388 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque—adding 9 horsepower over the previous iteration, while torque remains unchanged.

Though these upgrades may appear minor, they result in significant performance improvements. The Carrera’s zero to 60 miles per hour time decreases by 0.1 seconds, achieving the sprint in just 3.7 seconds. Additionally, its top speed rises by 1 mile per hour, now reaching 183 miles per hour.

While these changes might not compel current owners to trade in their cars immediately, the 2025 Carrera presents a host of enhancements that make it a compelling choice for both enthusiasts and new buyers. Beyond the powertrain, the Carrera’s refined features and improved performance ensure it remains a standout in the Porsche lineup.
