Even though there are differences between the various RS models, they have a lot in common, such as a lot of design features: black bodywork elements, a sports steering wheel and sports seats. And the glorious driving experience they all offer, of course.
The Octavia has been at the heart of Škoda’s RS tradition. Now in its fourth generation, the Octavia is for many the epitome of the ideal combination of sportiness, dynamism, comfort, spaciousness and extensive equipment. This year’s WRC2 world champion* Emil Lindholm praises the car’s balance, which, thanks to the long rear overhang, lets you throw it into corners. And the chassis provides the ideal combination of precision and comfort. Another advantage of the Octavia RS is that buyers can choose the body style that suits their needs (including three engine options: petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid).
The Czech carmaker now also offers an RS model for SUV lovers. This is the Kodiaq RS, which is powered by the same turbocharged two-litre four-cylinder engine that powers the Octavia RS. Here, Emil Lindholm praises both the engine’s power at low revs and the calibration of the all-wheel drive and stabilisation system, which keeps the car sitting pretty on gravel roads. In addition to Jenn, the Kodiaq RS can take five more passengers, because it’s a seven-seater.
The latest chapter in the story of Škoda’s RS line is an electric one. It comes in the form of the Enyaq Coupé RS iV and Enyaq RS iV, represented in the video by the sleek coupé. With 300 horsepower, the all-electric sports model is Škoda’s most powerful production car. And while Jenn highlights the quiet ride and zero emissions, Emil delights in the car’s low centre of gravity, stiff body and responsiveness.
