At the EICMA 2023, Piaggio showcased its impressive 2024 range of high-wheel scooters, including the best-selling models like Liberty, Medley, and Beverly. Furthermore, they introduced the updated Piaggio 1 electric scooter series, emphasizing its enhanced power and suitability for urban commuting.
The Piaggio 1 electric scooter range now includes three models: Piaggio 1, Piaggio 1+, and Piaggio 1 Active. The Piaggio 1 and 1+ are categorized as mopeds, with top speeds limited to 28 mph and ranges of 34 miles and 60 miles, respectively. The Piaggio 1 Active offers a more traditional scooter experience with a top speed of 37 mph and a range of 53 miles. All models come equipped with a removable battery, facilitating easy charging.
Design-wise, the 2023 Piaggio 1 series sports a minimalist and lightweight build, making it easier and safer for daily urban commutes. The electric motor, located on the rear wheel, is ideal for urban settings with frequent stops and starts, and it delivers extra power on hilly terrains. The peak power output is 3kW for the Active model and approximately 2.4kW for the mopeds, offering a significant increase in acceleration for all variants.
In addition to performance, these scooters also boast a solid frame for enhanced safety, a digital instrumentation panel, full LED lighting, and keyless operation. They offer spacious under-seat storage and come in various color options, including grey, white, black, and two-tone colors like Sunshine Mix, Arctic Mix, and Flame Mix, targeting younger customers.
