New 2024 Porsche Cayenne Interior Revealed Before Debut

Porsche’s much-awaited 2024 Cayenne update is on the horizon, set to launch on April 18. The brand has given us a sneak peek at the overhauled cabin, which promises to be a significant departure from the current design.

The new Cayenne boasts a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster with a curved screen, in stark contrast to the current layout that centers around an analog tachometer. The updated vehicle allows drivers to choose from up to seven display modes depending on the car’s specifications. These modes range from a pared-down, minimalistic layout that emphasizes essential information to the more classic, five-circle Porsche design.

At the center of the dashboard sits a prominent, rectangular 12.3-inch screen that supports Siri voice commands to operate vehicle functions. Additionally, online-connected navigation comes standard. When the car is stationary, occupants can enjoy streaming video on the display.

Below the large screen, Porsche has added a new control panel for the HVAC system. It features a glass surface over a black panel with touch recognition and haptic feedback, along with some physical control switches. A volume knob sits just below this panel.

A cooled, inductive charging pad is also included as standard, along with two USB-C ports in the front storage compartment and two more on the rear center console. The revised HVAC control layout and charging pad mean that the gearshift no longer occupies its previous location on the pre-refresh Cayenne. Designers have relocated it to a small protrusion to the right of the steering wheel, between the instrument cluster and infotainment screen.

The steering wheel is another updated feature, taking its look from the current 911 model. It has multifunction controls on the horizontal spokes, including buttons and wheels that can toggle the instrument cluster layout and optional head-up display. A stalk for operating the cruise control sits on the lower left, with a dial for changing drive modes on the right side.

For passengers, an optional 10.9-inch screen is available on the dashboard’s passenger side, allowing for navigation and media control. The screen also offers streaming video capabilities while driving, with a filter in place to prevent driver distraction.

Under the hood, the 2024 Cayenne comes standard with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, delivering 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The S trim offers a twin-turbo V8 engine that provides 468 hp and 442 lb-ft. The E-Hybrid PHEV produces 463 hp and 479 lb-ft, and it features a higher-capacity battery of 25.9 kilowatt-hours, compared to the current model’s 17.9 kWh. A more powerful Turbo S E-Hybrid will come later.

With its revamped cabin and updated features, the 2024 Porsche Cayenne is poised to be a standout in its class.
