New 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor Revealed in Europe

In a bid to diversify its lineup of Ranger trims in Europe, Ford has unveiled two new models, the Tremor and Wildtrak X. These two new additions stand out from the rest of the Ranger trims with their distinctive styling touches and upgraded suspension bits.

Last week, we reported on the launch of the new Ranger Wildtrak X in Australia, which comes with increased ground clearance and a wider stance, coupled with an upgraded long-travel suspension system. To further enhance the driving experience, Ford has fitted Bilstein dampers and an uprated heavy-duty steering system as standard. The truck also comes with a steel bash plate to protect its oily bits.

In addition, the Ranger Wildtrak X features Ford’s Trail Turn Assist, which can reduce the truck’s turning radius by 25 percent through brake-based torque vectoring. It also boasts Trail Control, an off-road version of cruise control, and Rock Crawl mode, a feature that was previously exclusive to the Ranger Raptor. The rock mode is designed to help the truck navigate uneven and rocky terrain more effectively by managing throttle response, traction control, and gearshift schedule.

Meanwhile, the new Tremor model is based on the XLT trim, but it also adopts the chassis and technology upgrades from the Wildtrak X. The Tremor features the same revised suspension geometry as the Wildtrak X, which necessitated the addition of fender arches to contain the wider track.

To enhance its appearance, Ford has given the Tremor a long-leg tubular sports bar around the bed and cast aluminum side steps. It also has a darkened grille, Boulder Gray exterior accents, and exposed twin front tow hooks. Inside, the seats and floor are trimmed with water-resistant vinyl. The Ranger Tremor comes with an optional pre-wired overhead switch pack with six inputs that owners can use for a winch, a light bar, and other equipment.

Both the Ranger Wildtrak X and Tremor are powered by Ford’s 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, which delivers 202 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. The power is routed to the pickup’s full-time four-wheel drive system via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

The Ranger Wildtrak X and Tremor are now available for ordering in Europe, with deliveries expected to commence in August. Both models will feature Ford’s new Flexible Rack System, which is also available in the Limited and regular Wildtrak models. This system allows the truck to carry long items on the roof.
