This unit adopts new pistons and connecting rods, has new profile camshafts and is updated in terms of distribution, lubrication and transmission. The maximum power is 140 kW (187.74 hp) at 9,700 rpm, while the maximum torque is 110.6 pound-feet of torque at 7,000 rpm. The Hayabusa has higher torque values than any other sports bike up to 6,000 rpm and, considering the entire rev range, boasts a more favorable delivery than the second generation. The new Hayabusa surpasses its predecessors in acceleration and in the most common driving situations and meets the Euro 5 emission limits.
