Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron Explained

Hoonigan team joined forces with Audi to craft a unique racing beast, commencing from scratch and refining the build to cater to Block’s unconventional racing preferences. One challenge they tackled was achieving the right weight distribution, necessitating a slight front-end bias, ultimately settling at a 52:48 equilibrium. Another hurdle came in the form of a compact wheelbase, which posed a puzzle for the engineers grappling with the task of accommodating a robust battery within the chassis. Remarkably, the solution entailed integrating four batteries, combining forces to supply a total of 57.6 kWh of electrical power.

Undoubtedly, the engineers accomplished their mission with precision. The S1 Hoonitron boasts an impressive 671 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque, and this power can be effectively channeled to either the front or rear motors as dictated by the circumstances. The instantaneous torque delivery, coupled with the absence of a gearbox, results in the S1 Hoonitron achieving astonishing wheel speeds, ideal for some serious tire-smoking action.
