2024 Porsche Cayenne Revealed With More Power

The highly anticipated 2024 Porsche Cayenne and its sibling, the Cayenne Coupe, have finally been unveiled after an exhaustive promotional campaign. Boasting a revamped exterior, a reimagined dashboard, and significant enhancements to the powertrain, these updated models are now available for order in the United States, with deliveries commencing this summer. The official debut will take place at the prestigious Auto Shanghai show.

Starting with the base Cayenne, it retains its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, now generating 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet – a notable increase of 13 hp and 36 lb-ft compared to the previous iteration.

Advancements continue with the Cayenne E-Hybrid, which pairs a turbocharged V6 with a more powerful electric motor, now producing 174 hp. This results in a combined output of 463 hp, a modest 8-hp increase. The battery capacity sees significant growth, reaching 25.9 kilowatt-hours compared to the previous 17.9 kWh. However, range estimates remain undisclosed. A new 11-kilowatt AC charger enables home charging in under two and a half hours.

Moving on to the Cayenne S, it now features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, replacing the former V6 engine. This eight-cylinder powerhouse churns out 468 hp and 442 lb-ft, a remarkable boost of 34 hp and 37 lb-ft over its predecessor. With this engine, both the standard model and the Coupe can reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, boasting a top speed of 169 mph.

At the pinnacle of the lineup, the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT flaunts a 650-hp version of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, a 19 hp improvement. This powerhouse reaches 60 mph in a mere 3.1 seconds and attains a top speed of 189 mph. The Turbo GT comes standard with high-performance features such as rear-wheel steering, air suspension, ceramic-composite brakes, and titanium exhaust pipes.

The Cayenne, S, and E-Hybrid models now come with new two-valve shocks featuring distinct rebound and compression stages. Porsche Active Suspension Management is standard, providing enhanced pitch-and-roll management, as claimed by the automaker.

An optional air suspension system, standard on the Turbo GT, is available for other models. This system purportedly offers a more distinct differentiation between Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus driving modes.

Aesthetic upgrades grace the 2024 Cayenne, retaining its recognizable design while introducing subtle enhancements. Matrix Design LED headlights come standard, sporting a marginally sharper shape. A new hood and reshaped fenders accompany redesigned taillights, which maintain a consistent height across the rear. Three fresh colors debut: Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey.

The Cayenne Coupe offers an optional Lightweight Sport Package, trimming 72 pounds off the vehicle’s weight. The specifics of this package are yet to be revealed.

The 2024 Cayenne’s dashboard has been entirely reimagined. Drivers now enjoy a curved 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, while steering wheel controls facilitate seamless display mode transitions. A new stalk to the left of the wheel manages driver assistance systems, with lane change assist and lane keep assist coming standard.

A revamped center stack features a 12.3-inch infotainment display, with the gearshift now situated between the two screens. A sleek console contains a combination of switches and capacitive buttons for HVAC controls. A driver’s smartphone tray with 15 watts of inductive charging is also provided.

In an innovative move, the 2024 Porsche Cayenne introduces an optional 10.9-inch screen on the passenger side of the dashboard. This cutting-edge feature enables passengers to seamlessly control the navigation system or even stream videos. To ensure safety, a unique layer on the display obscures the driver’s view of the screen’s content.
