2024 Porsche Cayenne Presentation at Auto Shanghai 2023

Porsche has undertaken a profound revamping of its third-generation Cayenne, leaving no stone unturned with comprehensive upgrades to its powertrain, chassis, design, and equipment. These upgrades have gone beyond merely enhancing on-road and off-road performance, as they have also significantly increased the luxurious everyday comfort that the car offers.

According to Michael Schätzle, the Vice President of the Product Line Cayenne, the new Cayenne’s launch is one of the most extensive product upgrades in Porsche’s history. Among the notable upgrades are its highly digitalised display and control concept, new chassis technology, and innovative high-tech features.

The high-definition HD Matrix LED Headlights are one of the standout features of the new Cayenne, providing tailored road illumination for every driving situation. Additionally, an air quality system filters pollutants from the air in the interior, and for the first time in a Cayenne, front passengers have their own infotainment display, which allows them to stream videos during the trip.

With a significantly upgraded design and a more powerful engine range, the Cayenne now reinforces its claim as the sportiest car in its segment. Porsche has integrated a completely revised display and control concept into the new Cayenne, with the new Porsche Driver Experience prioritizing the driver’s axis to optimize operation. Functions that the driver frequently uses are now located directly on or immediately next to the steering wheel.

The new Cayenne boasts a fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster with a curved and free-standing design, which is available for the first time in a redesigned cockpit. The standard 12.3-inch central Porsche Communication Management (PCM) display provides access to all the relevant vehicle functions, while native apps like Spotify® and Apple Music® optimize connectivity in the new Cayenne. For the first time, a 10.9-inch display is available for the passenger side, enriching the front passenger’s driving experience by displaying performance data and providing separate access to the infotainment system controls.

The new Cayenne also features a particularly expressive appearance, with a new front end, more strongly arched wings, a new bonnet, and technically appealing headlights emphasising the vehicle’s width. Three-dimensionally designed tail lights, uncluttered surfaces beneath, and a new rear apron with an integrated number plate holder characterise the rear end design of the new Cayenne.

Moreover, the new Cayenne boasts an expanded colour palette, lightweight sports packages that save up to 33 kilograms for the Cayenne Coupé, and a new extensive range of 20, 21, and 22-inch wheels that allow for individual and dynamic configuration of the car.

The Cayenne now comes equipped with standard Matrix LED Headlights, with the option to upgrade to HD Matrix LED Headlights. The innovative technology of the HD Matrix LED Headlights picks out other users and blocks out the light of the high beam to them with pixel accuracy so as not to dazzle them. The brightness of the modules can be regulated in over 1,000 steps depending on the driving situation.

Porsche has also introduced an air quality system in the new Cayenne. As standard, the vehicle uses predictive navigation data to detect approaching tunnel entrances and automatically activates air recirculation. Additionally, an ioniser removes many germs and pollutants from the air, making it particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers.

The new Cayenne offers an extensive range of new and optimised assistance systems, such as the active speed limiter and the swerve assist, the cornering assist, and the improved Porsche InnoDrive as part of the adaptive cruise control. Furthermore, Porsche now equips the Cayenne with a steel spring suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), while the new shock absorbers with 2-valve technology provide optimised performance in all driving.
