2024 Opel Corsa Facelift Revealed With Updated ICE And EV Models

The Corsa F has an intriguing backstory, as it was originally intended to be a General Motors product. However, plans took a different turn when the PSA Group acquired Opel and Vauxhall. These two brands now operate under the massive corporate umbrella of Stellantis. Looking ahead to the 2024 model year, the CMP-based supermini, which includes both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) versions, will receive a significant mid-cycle update. One noticeable change is the adoption of the “Vizor” grille, already seen on larger cars within the lineup.

The matrix headlights, aside from sporting a fresh design, have undergone technical enhancements by incorporating 14 individually controllable LED elements, as opposed to the previous eight. Opel boldly claims that these headlights will provide a “stadium-bright driving experience” while offering improved visibility for oncoming drivers by minimizing glare.

Moving to the rear, the Corsa F now proudly displays “Corsa” lettering, borrowed from the limited edition Corsa 40 launched almost a year ago. Depending on the trim level, the badges can be finished in black or matte satin silver. Adding to the exterior updates is the introduction of a new Grafik Grey paint, which can be combined with a black roof for added visual appeal.

While the interior appears to have been carried over from the pre-facelifted version, there is a new optional 10-inch infotainment system powered by a Snapdragon processor. Opel, based in Rüsselsheim, mentions that smartphones connected via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay can also be wirelessly charged simultaneously. Additionally, there are redesigned seat patterns, an updated shift lever, and a restyled steering wheel to freshen up the cabin.

Beneath the hood, Opel will introduce 1.2-liter mild-hybrid engines with either 100 or 136 horsepower. These will be paired with a newly developed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The non-electrified 98- and 128-hp turbo engines will carry over, alongside the naturally aspirated 1.2-liter unit producing a respectable 74 hp.

The most notable addition with the facelift is the improved Corsa Electric, succeeding the Corsa-e. In its base form, this zero-emission subcompact hatchback will continue to offer 136 horsepower and a WLTP range of 222 miles. Looking ahead, Opel will also offer a more powerful variant with 156 hp, 192 pound-feet of torque, and an extended range of 250 miles.

Customers can expect the first deliveries of the updated Corsa F in the fourth quarter of 2023.
